This is a question that has been asked by many parents over the years. Hopefully, by reading this you can make an informed decision as to what will be the best for your skater.
In order to help answer this question, it is important to understand the benefits of having a private coach. A private coach will significantly improve the quality of your child’s skating because they will spend much needed one-on-one time with the skater focusing each lesson on the specific needs of each individual skater.
As skaters progress through the canskate and starskate programs group lessons become less frequent and more independence is encouraged. A private coach will ensure that the skater is progressing through the program appropriately and successfully.
We are lucky to have such an outstanding coaching staff at the HSC. Our coaches are nationally certified through the NCCP (National Coaches certification program) and have extensive backgrounds as skaters themselves As a parent, you can choose who you think will best suit the needs of your skater. Just simply approach that coach at the rink or call them to set up a lesson schedule.
I don't think most teachers realize how much impact they have.
